About

So much fabric, so little time...

This has been a recurring theme in my very busy life for many years, ever since I started my sewing business in 1988.

I have been sewing, and occasionally working in all the needle arts, since I was a child growing up in Germany. At that time, starting in first grade, these skills were a regular part of every girl's education. Further instruction at a young women's finishing school, as well as a 3-year apprenticeship with a ladies' garment manufacturer, completed my studies. As it turned out, all of this was a good thing: I learned a lot, which allowed me to make a living doing what I enjoy most.

Recently retired as the sole owner/operator of a very busy tailoring shop in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I did custom apparel, alterations and quite a bit of home décor, I now get to be creative, working on turning my substantial fabric stash into sewn creations that may be interesting, fun, useful, pretty or all of these together.

I like to work with natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, wool and silk. My favorite new thing is creating one-of-a-kind pieces that incorporate upcycled denim. No matter the item though, one continuous thread running through all my creations is that they are all made with unique design, durability and quality construction details as their main attributes.

To anyone with questions about me or my work, please send me a message via the contact page. I check my emails daily and look forward to hearing from you!
